Beyond Bombs: Babyshop's Radio Lullaby Replaces War's Noise with Comfort in Syria

The devastating conflict in Syria has had a profound impact on the lives of millions, particularly children. The trauma of war can lead to a range of mental health issues, including difficulty sleeping and anxiety. In response to this critical need, the retailer Babyshop launched Frequencies of Peace, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing solace and comfort to traumatized children in Syria.

Frequencies of Peace involves the nightly broadcast of a scientifically-backed Arabic lullaby on the country’s largest radio stations. Composed in collaboration with Syrian singer Ghaliaa Chaker and neuroscientists, the lullaby incorporates calming elements such as a gentle rhythm and simple melody, designed to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety.

By broadcasting the lullaby at 8pm each night, Babyshop aims to provide a peaceful respite from the constant noise and chaos of war. The lullaby is available on Anghami and a dedicated station, Frequencies of Peace FM, ensuring that children and their families can access it whenever they need.
